$100 laptop solution: seeking advice on specific options
The DAC-AH is *about*5 inches wide, 2 inches tall, and 8 inches deep. I wouldn't get it if you're looking for portability as it requires AC power. I hope this reply helped!- eladioc

Circuit error in Lite DAC-AH: Easy fix
ok so i'm staring at the PCB of my DAC-AH. I see the resistors over R35 and R36. So what I should do is solder 330 ohm resistors to the existing resistors on R35 and R36? What is a good way to go about this? Any help with technique? So my final product will have two resistors (270 and 330)...- eladioc

Closed Headphones for College
it sounds like you want the Audio Technica A900. Closed, circumaural, no need of amplification (good straight out of any source), well-rounded, comfortable, etc. You won't need to wear it out since you have UM1's, so portability isn't an issue. I got my pair from audiocubes.com for $198 shipped...- eladioc

I don't know about feeling the "weight" of the cord; the cord is light and if you wear it properly, it stays out of your way (unless you're wearing a backpack... the cord can get caught on it and it will tug on your ears). If you're not playing any music you can hear the microphonics, or the...- eladioc
