Post your EQ settings for your headphones

I use two instances of Electri-Q in a program called EnergyXTE.

Post your EQ settings for your headphones

My EQ is still a work in progress.  I'm almost there, but not quite.  What's interesting, though, is the direction it's going.    (Top Electri-Q image is my left ear settings, bottom one is the right.)   When I was tinkering last night, the curve I landed upon stirred up a memory of...

    Noob help

Quote: It's a cliche, but just try out some stuff until you find what you like.  Neither the price you pay nor the opinions of others will necessarily change the way your ears respond to any given headphones.  I think one of the sillier things anyone can do is to take the thoughts of...

Post your EQ settings for your headphones

Quote: Without EQ, my HD650/O2-ODAC combination is unbelievably shrill and features a sound stage that closely resembles a gelatinous blob, despite the notorious "warm" and "dark" reputations of both.  That's just how my ears work.  With EQ - which is free and doesn't do anything I don't...

Post your EQ settings for your headphones

Maybe it's because my ears are, shall we say, unique, but I don't know how anyone can listen to headphones without a bit of EQ to at least somewhat tailor the sound to their personal HRTF.  Are a lot of folks just lucky and have ears that naturally "fit" a range of headphones?

My EQ (or "Say again?")     Believe it or not, this sounds great to me.  But, I still think it's funny, which is why I'm sharing it here.

10 Second Survey - Music or Gear?

Without the music, there's no need for the gear.  It's really that simple.   I disagree with the notion that a "true" appreciation of music requires the listener to go to great lengths to ensure that the sound one hears is reproduced as accurately as it was recorded.  While higher fidelity...

I got an HP with Beats Audio. Help.

There's allegedly a discrete amp somewhere in the mix.  I dunno.  I can't say that I really care, either.   I just have to hold out for the right DAC/amp.  Believe me, it's not a matter of procrastination; it's a matter of currently being unable to provide remuneration, so to speak.

I got an HP with Beats Audio. Help.

Yes, "Sound Enhancements" is found in the "Sounds" control panel.  With all of them disabled, the sound's actually not half-bad.  It's certainly good enough that I don't feel compelled to buy a temporary DAC/amp, which would only serve to delay getting proper gear that much longer.   Though...

I got an HP with Beats Audio. Help.

Quote:   I don't have the E10 anymore.  I guess I should update my list.    It may seem difficult to believe, but there was only a negligible difference between its sound quality and that of just plugging my HD650 directly into the Dell.  So, I thought it better to get a refund and...

Ha!  Don't I feel dumb.   "Just keep using the Dell to listen to music, fool."   So, there's that.  I still welcome any suggestions, something more elegant perhaps.

    Question about FLAC Files

Most people don't detect a difference between properly encoded 256kps and anything higher, no matter the gear.  I'm one of those people.   That said, all of my prized music is encoded losslessly.  It's a mental thing, I suppose.
