Workout IEM
Holy smokes I haven't been on here in a while. Moved states and don't have room for the headphone rigs unfortunately. Anyways, my JH10's have a broken driver and I need to send them for service. I have been using them while running and working out, and maybe I didn't dry them out as well as I...- DutchGFX

The Great Audio Scam - Anything above $2 buys you features NOT Audio Quality
Yeah IMUs are great (we use them a ton at work). I haven't written on my blog in a while, maybe I should start doing that again! How did you integrate the IMU data? Or did you just use the accelerometer to detect if it was moved?- DutchGFX

The Great Audio Scam - Anything above $2 buys you features NOT Audio Quality
Of course, but sinc interpolation is non-causal and I don't believe it can be written as a recursive difference equation, so it can't be implemented in real-time. Maybe if you allow for the same number of taps as your signal length you could do the convolution in real-time, but that would be a...- DutchGFX

The Great Audio Scam - Anything above $2 buys you features NOT Audio Quality
Yes, but this is the sound science section lol. The science says it isn't the same, so it's not the same. In the listening impressions section they might be the same, but in the science section they are not :) But yes, I would 100% agree that this does not matter. I'm only here to enlighten...- DutchGFX

The Great Audio Scam - Anything above $2 buys you features NOT Audio Quality
I should say that I am not an expert in this stuff. I do a decent amount of signal processing for work, but nothing in real time on an FPGA, so I don't have expertise in this area. I really don't have expertise in any area, but here is the "short" story as far as I know So, I assume that the...- DutchGFX

Capacitor Upgrades
Yeah if you increase the capacitance you will reduce your power supply ripple. Depending on the topology of the amplifier this might not matter that much but if it's single ended then it would likely be beneficial. Unclear how much it would help tho, but generally if you can have bigger...- DutchGFX

Capacitor Upgrades
You responded to an old thread, and it's usually best to start your own thread when it isn't entirely related. However, if you take a picture of the caps on the supply now, I'm sure I (or somebody else on here) can tell you if they are alright. I'm not sure what caps they used, and you should...- DutchGFX

The Great Audio Scam - Anything above $2 buys you features NOT Audio Quality
While I do think there is some truth to this, I can't say I entirely agree. There is certainly some diminishing (and often non-existent) returns, but the fact is that a nicer DAC, such as a Chord, uses very fast FPGAs to perform the reconstruction in ways that simple $1 ICs from TI can't...- DutchGFX

Cigar Box Case
I would definitely use some standoffs. You can probably find them on McMaster Carr, or maybe even a local hardware store. You can also take some small-diameter PVC from home Depot and cut the standoffs yourself. They don't have to be pretty. I usually 3D print mine- DutchGFX

Make youre own Bottlehead kit?
This is a good way to put it. The beauty of the Bottlehead kits is that they have been perfected over the years and the design has been refined by literally thousands of builds. When I design my amps, I usually have to design them 2-3 times to get them to work as I would like, and that means a...- DutchGFX

Make youre own Bottlehead kit?
I'm a big fan of Antek transformers. They are toroidal not EI, so you might want to get a transformer cover ($10 or so on eBay) to help with appearance (and maybe hum). They are very good for the money, and I use them in a lot of my diy testing projects. You can actually probably make a very...- DutchGFX
