SONY NWZ-A10 Series
Thank you (and the others) for your advice! This makes it clear; I doewloaded the tool and tried it; indeed it seems only 30GB works. Either a dud or fake. Glad I know what is the problem now, I'll return the card and get a new one.- dura

SONY NWZ-A10 Series
Hi all, I imported a A15 (64GB, black) from Hong Kong and am very happy with it. However, I recently bought a 128GB SD card and for some reason it shows only about 32 GB on songs. Other albums added do not appear to have songs in it, even though in explorer the card says it is filled with 116...- dura

SONY NWZ-A10 Series
Well, I just spent a frustrating hour on the internet looking if I could order the 64GB player shipping to the Netherlands. Couldn't find a single store, only the 16GB is available. Anybody has a tip where to get the 64GB?- dura

ARRIVED: new Rega DAC
Well, who knows.... Two weeks ago I sold my beloved Rega DAC, and my beautiful Primare A30.1 amp, and I bought a -rather ugly- NAD C390DD; this amp is completely digital; as far as I understand it basically it transforms the digital PCM stream into -still digital- PWM, amplifies it while...- dura

Klipsch Image X10
I bought a set too on amazon.de for €126,- Deeply impressed by the deep bass, big soundstage and colorful sound; they bare far better then my favorite IEM for the last 2 years, the Etymotic HF2s. Build quality is less impressive, hope the strainrelieves on the earpieces don't wear out...- dura

ARRIVED: new Rega DAC
I've no first hand experience with USB cables since I use a squeezebox to feed my beloved Rega DAC. But I was wondering, there are two kinds of possible distortion; one is jitter, that tends to make the sound more dull because information is lost randomly afaik. But the other is noise...- dura

ARRIVED: new Rega DAC
Quote: Exactly what made me sell my former DACs (audio-GD ref5 dsp, Meier Stagedac, MHDT Havana), some were more transparant and detailed, but non as musical as the Rega; ever since I bought the Rega, 18 months ago, I've been happy and no more thoughts of changing/upgrading.- dura

Logitech's Squeezebox Touch - opinions sought on quality
Quote: Yep, I had both for years, feeding dacs through coax. No contest, the Touch sounds superior through the digital out on all fronts; the Classic has a dull undynamic sound that is typical of jitter.- dura

Replacing my M-DAC
the Havana has a soft bass, the kind of undamped softness some tubes bring. The Audio-GD is balanced in the bass, it does not stand out in any way. The Rega might be a little bit too bassy, especially in filter #1, and the bass is slightly soft, but that does not stand in the way of the...- dura

NuForce DDA-100 impressions thread (computer, but not headphone, DAC/amp)
Thanks Barbes, for your impressions. I've no doubt these 'amplified dacs' will have the future; the combine dac, pre amp and power amp into a much simpler, cleaner one box solution that will provide better price/quality then the classic solutions; at last this is what I constantly read in every...- dura

A natural sounding DAC. Does it even exist?

Replacing my M-DAC
Difficult, it gives a very organic musical sound, not the last word in transparancy and detail but very natural, nothing mechanic at all. Perhaps it is more what the other dacs did wrong: the Meier sounded 'digitally detailed' with an accent on the frequency extremes and tonally off in the mid...- dura

Replacing my M-DAC
I used to have the Havana; very 'natural' sounding, but that is because I found it dull; not very dynamic and slightly rolled off treble. I love my Rega DAC; full and dynamic, but very natural, not that 'digital' unnatural sharp sound. BTW, I tried more DACs before the Rega, the Havana...- dura

calling all current and former Meier Stagedac owners?
Quote: Well, I had a stagedac for a few weeks, impressive dac with huge 3D soundstage and deep bass but not quite my taste; tried other dacs like the MHDT Havana and the AudioGD Ref5, but eventually found my true love in the Rega DAC. But it is not a matter of better, it is a matter of...- dura
