    Quick Impression: Sony MDR-7550

i personally think the bass on the 7550 sounds fine   I can't read japanese but according to these frequency response charts, the ex800st's response looks different than headroom's chart of the 7550 source: http://sonove.angry.jp/sony_MDR_EX800ST.html   Source...

Sony MDR-CD900ST, why don't these get more love?

My primary reason for wanting a pair, is its studio application; that people are describing it as transparent, neutral, and unforgiving   I just bought a pair of the mdr7550, which is supposed to be the american version of the mdr-ex800st (the cd900st's little brother), and I'll be working...

Sony MDR-CD900ST, why don't these get more love?

I'd really like a pair, but was wondering what the cheapest way to get one to California, USA would be... Both ebay and amazon ship from japan for around $260-270.  Then there's the customs fees I have to worry about...    Any advice?  Thanks

I pulled the trigger and picked a brand up a new pair locally.  Really glad it comes with interchangeable earbuds (the small ones fit best for me)   next on my list: the mdr-cd900st if anyone's in japan, shoot me a pm! hahah..but no seriously lol

    Quick Impression: Sony MDR-7550

Apologies for reviving an old thread, but can anyone verify that the mdr7550 is indeed identical to the japanese mdr-ex800st?   I wasn't sure if it was speculation or not....    Thanks!

Sony MDR-CD900ST Professional Headphones Unboxing Video and a What moment.

ooh.. thanks for the info!  i'm tempted to go the custom route, but I'd probably be happy enough with non-custom.  ebay has them for 250 shipped to america which is a pretty ok deal.  i heard they go for around 180 in japan, but considering how weak the USD is, it probably now translates to...

Sony MDR-CD900ST Professional Headphones Unboxing Video and a What moment.

I've been looking for a deal on the cd900st for the longest time.  If you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase yours from?   oh, and you can purchase replacement earpads here...

    The All Japanese Optimized Setup

disagree with the cd900st suggestions though they're very popular in japan, they're mainly used in analytical studio settings (being fairly neutral) whether it's jpop or whatever, i like hearing/feeling the low frequencies so i'd go for the dt770 80hm for listening to music

    Looking for Flat Response

Thanks for all the suggestions The dt48 and CD900ST are the two cans that have peaked my interest being as they seem to be very neutral headphones with flat responses (especially the CD900ST as it is very popular in studios in japan). Would the dt48 and CD900ST require amps? EQ'ing the...

    Looking for Flat Response

Hi, I currently have the DT770-80's and though the lows/bass are quite strong, I find it lacking in the mid-high frequencies (clarity). I compose, mix, and listen to mainly hip hop, pop, and r&b music, but that doesn't mean I'm looking for overwhelming bass heavy cans. I'd like a...

    DT770 w/out amp?

Right now, I have a pair of DT770/80's coming in and i was wondering, does it need to be amped? if i want to use the DT's to its full potential, would i need an amp? and if i do need an amp to use it to its full potential, then what is the cheapest amp that would allow me to do that? i know...
