Momentum 2.0 vs HD558 vs Vmoda 100 vs Sony MDR-1A
This is kind of a weird comparison in the sense that all the headphones i tested today are kind of for purposes but hey thats all the high end cans Best Buy had out for testing. I had bought the Sony MDR-1A and they are on the way so i went to best buy to see what they had and hopefully had the...- draacor

I'm looking for a good pair of IEM's that i can wear in bed with my ipad and my wife cant hear the noise so she can sleep at night. I had a pair of Klipsch s2 and they worked great, not the best sounding I've heard but my wife couldn't hear them at all. I just bought a pair of sony...- draacor

Ultrasone HFI-780 vs. Beyerdynamic dt770 vs Shure srh840
I have tried both the DT770 80ohms and the SRH840 and in regards to the DT770 i was not impressed. They didn't sound very good and were too quiet, they also for whatever reason made my head itch with the velour pads. However, i was not using an amp and i think they would benefit greatly with...- draacor

DT 770 pro 80 too much bass
I didn't like the dt770 because it felt like it was a little too muffled, in fairness could have been because i wasn't using an amp, and I also didn't think they were comfortable to me. The velour actually made my head itch. Anyway went with the SRH840s and couldn't be happier :)- draacor

I'm not Shure...Need advice!
Quote: That they can crack. If you can try them both that would be awesome but honestly I love the 840s and if you really want the velour pads that the 940s have you can get them and they will fit the 840s just fine :) I'm not sure the extra detail you get from the 940s are worth it. You...- draacor

I'm not Shure...Need advice!
From what I read they are very bass light and also have some quality issues. I went with the srh840s and felt they had the best of both worlds :)- draacor

What Shure headset should i choose? srh940 vs. srh840 vs. srh440
I cant really comment on the 940 or the 440 for that matter but I love the 840s. I'm not sure why all the comments about them being uncomfortable because I think they are super comfortable but that could just be the size of my head. Everyone's is different so comfort is very subjective. I...- draacor

whats is better for me? m50 vs ultrasone 580
just curious but have you listened to the SRH840s? They are around the same price range and I feel has the perfect amount of bass. Also the mids and vocals are top notch. Anyway just a thought :)- draacor

Have ATH-M50, want something different
I am really enjoying my Shure SRH840s. I think it fits your requirements quite nicely. If you want velour I read that the replacement velour pads for the 940 work fine. Also look into the AKG 271 MKII i hear they are really great and they come with both velour and pleather pads and a...- draacor

thanks everyone!
As an update I have had time to compare the SRH840s with my old Bose Triports that i have had for like 10 years. Wow. The thing i noticed right away is how nasally the Bose sound in comparison. I always enjoyed the Bose but now that I have the Shure's i don't think I'll be using them ever...- draacor

I want to thank everyone and this site for their wonderful help in me finding the right headphones for me. I have tried the grado sr80i, athm50, akg 272 and k550, dt770 80ohms. I finally settled on a pair of shure srh840's. I love them, exactly what I wanted, comfortable, detachable cable, no...- draacor
