jc, are you selling your spare gec 6as7g's on ebay? I am unloading my wa22 and tubes. When I checked out competitor postings I saw one that has to be you.- dmac03

Best possible head-fi setup with PC as source for techno/trance/electronica/d&b when money is not an option?
I can vouch for the ps1000's and techno. The only caution is that the amp pairing is very important for bass heavy genres. I love using valves with mine, but I think a good ss amp may be better for techno.- dmac03

Jackal, its good to hear that you are enjoying your ps1000's as much, if not more so, than your hp-1's. Thanks for the impressions.- dmac03

I threw out the question to more or less test the waters. I have no desire to add another set of cans to my repetoire, and others seem to agree. I think this gives testimate to the ps1000's performance and versatility.- dmac03

herbie's audio lab? None of my tubes are significantly microphonic, so I don't own any to see if they fit my GEC 6AS7G's. However, I've seen others use this brand and they seem like good value.- dmac03

David, just tell me the time and place and I will be there if I have no prior obligations. Its far from high-end, but I got my hands on a Musical Fidelity M1DAC which offers balanced output. I would be happy to share it for the sake of comparison. I would also love to have the opportunity to...- dmac03

Musical Fidelity M1 DAC - Any Impressions?
I just received my v-link and m1dac yesterday. I haven't done much listening to this point, but am very satisfied thus far. The depth of the sound is so much more than I experienced before the upgrade.- dmac03

I just snagged a pair of "rebranded" tung-sol 5U4G's, Dumont and Philco respectively. The pair was surprisingly cheap so I thought it was well worth the risk even if they weren't legitimate. The seller states they both have the Tung-Sol EIA code of 322. Additionally, by comparing images I...- dmac03

broken arrow, I'm glad to hear that it the m1dac holds its own in your setup. If its good enough for your wa5-le then its surely good enough for my wa22. I think I will pull the trigger tomorrow.- dmac03
