Get a pair of Fostex T50RP ($70) and mod them ($30) per one of the numerous methods you can find on the internet.

1.  Senn HD600 1.  Fostex T50RP modded   Can't separate them, playing thru a Little Dot Mk VIII SE (except by volume setting ... 11a for 600's, 4p for T50's).

I tried out the AirMotiv 5's for a bit and found them more pleasing to my ear than the AudioEngine 5+'s (and my current Klipsch 5.1 Promedia).  However, in my near field setup, they were a bit "too  much" for me.  Even had to turn down the bass a bit.  If I were to spend the money to upgrade, I...
