been listening to Chulahoma, awesome album, goes back to their more raw sounding roots. How do you like the new album? i have yet to try it, but from what ive heard they are still going with the more produced poppy sound.   Oh and btw i gave black keys a go with the 325i's, and i still enjoy...

I haven't actually heard that Album, have to give it a go. Have you heard black roc? Not a bad album either if you're into a bit of rap/ hip hop with the black keys backing.

Actually like it better on the 650's at the moment, haven't tried them with my 325's. I don't really like anything after brother as much, I think they lost rawness they had, maybe a little too much production(I dunno the proper term)? Hope I don't sound too much like a hipster. Will report...

I have been scared to listen to my black keys collection since i bought my new headphones, amp  and dac, thinking it would be poorly recorded because of the amount of static used in the guitar. I was wrong (except maybe thickfreakness), they sound beutiful.

i thought amd stepped out of the desktop cpu race and were focusing on apu's?

wow those voltages are pretty high, not worried about shortening the life of your cpu?

i really have to stop reading this thread, i have pairs of 6ew7, 6fd7, 6sn7, 6dr7 coming and a 5u4g philco as well as a gz32.  Building up a bit of a collection.

I got myself copies of mirage rock, cease to begin and infinite arms. I can see how they say the acoustic versions lost 'power' compared to the studio versions. Acoustic at the Ryman is a very stripped back affair, but i still love it. Have you had a chance to listen to it? 

  Wow, you do need some stands. Does angling the A5+ make much of a difference? 

scathing? how so? As its my first band of horses album, I'm really enjoying it. A bit more of a country than I'm used too but a pretty nice live recording. Funerals still gives me goosebumps every time it plays. Definitely worth a listen.

 

The speakers sound good enough out of the stx, if I wanted to use my bifrost I'd have to change the rcas every time. I don't think it'd be a good idea to connect active speakers to a bottle head though would it? Seeing as it's a headphone amp only.
