Headphones for bed
Yikes! I don't think I'll be buying a pair of Skullcandy Crushers! I always take the headphones off before attempting to sleep, so hopefully there won't be any ear damage.- deejayen

Grado Fan Club!
Thanks very much. I'm not sure what sort of sound I like. I see you have HD600 - I also have these, and think they're a bit warm and grainy. I'd be using them for a bit of recording\mixing, and think a different flavour might be helpful if my monitors have smooth treble and restricted bass.- deejayen

Grado Fan Club!
Is the SR125e a decent headphone? I have the GR10e in-ears, but I've never seen a Grado headphone in the flesh, so don't really know how the different pads compare, but it looks like the SR125e is the most expensive model with the S pads.- deejayen

Porta Pro on-ear alternatives
I've ended up buying another pair of Porta Pros, but might look around for something else as well.- deejayen

Headphones for bed
In another post I mentioned I've been using Koss Porta Pros for listening to (mainly) talk radio in bed. Their headband is a bit scratchy at times, but I can use both ear pads when laying back, or individual pads when laying on my side. I'm just wondering - what other headphones\earphones...- deejayen

Porta Pro on-ear alternatives
I've broken a couple of sets of Porta Pros, and was just about to buy another pair when I began to wonder if there were any alternatives. I have other headphones and earphones, but the Porta Pros are quite handy at times - I mainly use them when listening to the radio in bed. They're a bit...- deejayen

Finding a portable/handheld audio player with very peculiar features for a family member in need
What about one of the SanDisk Clips? I think they were meant to sound good considering their price, and they're quite neat. Moving upmarket, there were things like the Colorfly C4, but I'm not sure about availability of these nowadays. I keep meaning to buy a basic, high quality player - my...- deejayen

Final Sonorous III - considered accurate?
Thanks for that. I think the III, unlike the more expensive models, might have a dynamic driver, and the Final website says it has 'monitor-like sound quality'.- deejayen

Etymotic pain
Thanks! The mod looks interesting, but I'm not sure which part of the earphone is causing me the problem\pain. Is the idea that you don't have to insert them as far because the foam expands and fills the entrance to the ear canal? I thought the Etymotics had to be inserted to reach a more...- deejayen

Final Sonorous III - considered accurate?
Is the Sonorous III a 'monitor' type headphone? I'm looking for something suitable for music production (some recording and mixing). I've had HD600 for years, but I've found they don't suit me for anything other than general listening - there's something about their underlying sound which make...- deejayen

Etymotic pain
Thanks. I'll wait until my ears have recovered and try again! The Evos are interesting, but I think I'd prefer full-sized headphones rather than a custom-fit earphone. The iQube pic isn't mine - it's probably there because I joined up in 2009 and haven't made many posts!- deejayen

Etymotic pain
After many years I eventually got round to buying a pair of Etymotics. I went with the ER2SE for now, with the intention of buying a pair of ER4SR if I liked them. When I bought them the dealer suggested trying the standard triple flange tips. I've tried them a handful of times since I got...- deejayen

Headphone with same 'loudness' as HD600
Thanks for that. Yes, it looks like both headphones have to be the same. I did try Grado in-ears as a matter of interest, and as you say, they're completely different. With the Grados the volume knob has to be set to not much above minimum, whereas the HD600 need the volume knob set at around...- deejayen

Headphone with same 'loudness' as HD600
I've got a headphone amp with a couple of headphone outputs, but only a master volume control. I'm using it with a pair of HD600, and I'd like to buy a different pair of headphones which would give the same, or slightly lower, volume level as the HD600. I've tried some other headphones, but...- deejayen

Grado GR10e vs AKG and full-sized Grados
I'm looking for headphones with an accurate sound for mixing - I'm not sure if the Grado GR10e I have give me that. How would you describe the GR10e? How do the full-sized Grados compare, and which ones are considered equivalent to the GR10e? Would I need the RS1e or the PS2000e, for example...- deejayen
