get an xonar essence stx sound card and some audioengine a5's. they are both well regarded for computer audio.

i own audioengine a5's and i love them. they do music justice, especially on my budget.

:both are good speakers and you will most likely be happy with either option. i'd say go with whatever is cheaper, your wallet will thank you

amazon has the denon adh2000 closed headphones for $214, ordered them tonight. once i get them/order xonar essence ill post impressions. also, got my a5's today, sound excellent to my ears w/ onboard audio on old dell, cant wait to hear with better gear behind them
