Sound Card Help
Thanks all, I fixed the issue. Plugged the speakers into their own serge protector and that did it. Thanks. Now I'd like to find a good external multimedia controler or mixer.- Crooked

Monitor Question
I am getting a static/buzz that is unbearable. I have Mackie MR5 MK2s connected to a Sound Blaster Z card. I am using the monitors for entertainment and not referencing. I feel as if the 3.5mm input is getting interference from other components. Any help? i wonder if it will be worth it to...- Crooked

Sound Card Help
I was able to pick up the Z for $99 so I am going to keep that based on your recommendation. I also hear the only diff between the two is the volume controller. Anything on the buzzing sound? I wish I didn't need DDL so much for my A50s or I would have just gotten an external interface to run...- Crooked

Nice... But do you think I should get the ZxR? Or is the extra $100 for the high model really not worth it for what I am using it for? Also, anything on the buzzing? And yeah... I am looking for a volume control recommendation.- Crooked

Quote: Okay, so after research and despite your recommendation (lol, not that I don't respect it I just decided to get a step up), I decided to pick up the Sound Blaster Z. It made my A50s sound amazing. So that is done. Like, Jesus the comparison between DDL on and off (where I was...- Crooked

Sound Card Help
Oh, nice... I see. This makes much more sense when it comes to sound card recommendations I have been getting. However, if I stay with the monitors, don't you think the Creative ones I linked might be a better choice since it has a built in DAC?- Crooked

Sound Card Help
Thanks, I heard great things about the Asus and its nice to hear I don't have to drop $150+ on an interface to get the sound I am after. Do you think I should keep the Mackies? Or exchange them for the Swan M50W since it has a sub for more bass and is geared more towards entertainment. The...- Crooked

Swan M50W vs KRK RP5 vs Audioengine A5s
Hate to semi necro a thread here but I am in a similar boat. I just purchased the Mackie MR5 MK2s for home entertainment (gaming, movies and music) in that order. I love them and they sound great but wish there was a tad more bass for immersion. On the other hand I love the bass because it is...- Crooked

Quote: What? I am looking for a sound card recommendation. From my understanding the sound card should allow my speakers to emulate 5.1 anyway.- Crooked

Sound Card Help
Okay, so after diligently searching for an audio solution for my set up and reading days worth of forum posts, I have purchased studio monitors instead of a gimmicky out of the box surround sound system. After narrowing my search to Yamaha H50s, KRK Rockit 5s, Audioengine A5 and Mackie MR5...- Crooked

LF PC Audio Recommendation
Ok, although new here I am an avid visitor and I have read a plethora of reviews. Although, I find myself stuck. I am going to try to keep this as short as possible but I find it necessary to give a background of myself to help with a solid recommendation. I might get a bit of flame for what I'm...- Crooked
