AKG Q 701 with Fiio E7
I started out with the E7 and my K702 and ended up getting the E9 as well. I must say that at the same relative listening volume the lower frequencies are more audible with the E9. I'm happy with it, but I'm longing to try the Objective2 with the K702 to compare. In short, the difference is...- clarkb

E7/E9 Combo Help! Can't get any audio whatsoever.
are you sure the E7 is turned on? also it helps a lot if you take it out of the silicone sleeve before docking it. and make sure you select the usb audio dac as primary sound driver- clarkb

Best headphones for rock, metal?
Quote: I also listen to all of those bands quite often, recently mostly Red, Demon Hunter, TFK, and Skillet though. While they sound amazing with my K702, the kick drum and some of the bass guitar doesn't have the impact/presence that I feel the music should have. Listening with my Q460...- clarkb

MEElectronics Thread!!!
just bought 5 pair of M9's last week when they were on sale, and a set of M6's. Been loving the M9's but I think they would benefit from comply foams. M6 hasn't been delivered yet.- clarkb

In-Ears to complement my Over-Ears...any suggestions appreciated :)
I see you're leaning towards higher-end models by comparison, but I just picked up a few pairs of MEElec M9s and after a few hours of burning in I've been really enjoying some Skrillex, Nero and of course Deadmau5 with them. I also bought some M6s for my workouts but they haven't been...- clarkb

Fiio E9 vs E9i
also, if you're using IEMs or lower impedance headphones you'll want to use the E7 by-itself. the E9 isn't necessarily held back by the E7, as you can pair it with any DAC you desire. the E9's main fault its the high output impedance.- clarkb

Fiio e10 causing BSOD
But Windows 7, and maybe Vista (not sure about Vista), doesn't require any third-party drivers for that. Use something like this http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html to see exactly what process is causing the BSODs and post back- clarkb

E7 + E9 + iPhone and M50s/ RE0 - Good pairing?
Unfortunately the higher output impedance of the E9 is likely to have negative effects on SQ with those low impedance phones. The E7 on its own, however, should do nicely with them as a portable amp. As to the L9, it would be much better than just using the headphone out of the iphone.- clarkb

Which one of these headphones are best under a $250 budget?
ATH-M50 for your music style and isolation for sure. But you might want to look at some of the Ultrasone models as well, because the HFI-580 I listened to sounded pretty good. Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk- clarkb

Old 'phones: Koss Pro-4a. Anyone have any info?
My dad also has a set of these. He got them when he graduated high school(1975). They sound good when driven by his vintage receiver. The fluid has all evaporated/dried from the earpads and they aren't comfortable anymore. But Koss only charges $10 or so to fix them up and I've been meaning to...- clarkb

Alternative cable for AKG K450/Q460
the part number for the longer K450 cable from AKG is 2544K00040. It is 1.1m like the iOS cable of our Q460 but is 3-pin like our smaller one. It's not lime green but for the sake of convenience I can get over that lol.- clarkb

K702's arriving today...
When using them together everything is plugged into the E9. There is a USB input and analog inputs on the back, and you plug the phones into the front.- clarkb
