glad to hear you are liking them, i also bought a set a few days ago but they haven't arrived yet. Of course it doesn't really matter as i don't have my Lyr yet either

If anyone is interested in an HD600 headband cushion to use with their HE-400's, i have one unopened that i will send to someone for free. I've decided that i'm going to be sending back my 400's so i'll have no use for this, first person to send me their info can have it.

It doesn't snap into anything, it's just a bent metal tab which contacts the surface behind it. If you pull off your pads its very easy to see. You're right, it's definitely a bit alarming, but I hate the thought of sending these back and waiting, and they are working perfectly now. So I guess...
