Pro 750 -> Atrio MG5 Pro -> Vsonic GR07 -> TF 10 -> DT 770 Pro 250 Help Direct the Madness!
Update: driven from my Bijou tube amp the 770's are starting to come alive. I totally understand now reading some of the references to an almost shrill treble; I've had to eq a bit to tame some of the upper frequencies. I'm still not head over heels for them but I'm willing to give them a bit...- cgrums

Pro 750 -> Atrio MG5 Pro -> Vsonic GR07 -> TF 10 -> DT 770 Pro 250 Help Direct the Madness!
I turn, once again, to the collective wisdom for some guidance. The title here details my recent explorations in finding headphones (or IEM's) for my work listening experience. Brief background: I work, both at the office and at home, in fairly noisy environments. I have a very difficult...- cgrums

Denon D2000 or Beyer DT150 or Senn HD-25
Hello All, It's been a number of years since I've been in the market for a new pair of 'phones for office listening. I'm currently using Ultrasone PRO750's fed by a Gamma 2 DAC and Bijou tube amp. I've been content but a recent change in my glasses frames has made the 750's extremely...- cgrums

Closed Cans to Replace Ultrasone PRO 750
Quote: I've been thinking along those lines for the 770...There's a large guitar center in downtown Seattle...I'll drop in and see if they have the HD25's.- cgrums

Closed Cans to Replace Ultrasone PRO 750
Hello All, After quite a period of contentment with my Ultrasones I find myself in a position of needing to change out my work 'phones. I work in an 'open' office with cubicles separated by open-top dividers. Isolation is crucially important as there are times when the office is...- cgrums

Bijou Fireworks
Thanks for the reply fishski13. I'm using the Hammond 270DAX as recommended. I should've clarified: I have a two-box setup with the power supply in a separate enclosure. These problems are occurring with the power supply not connected to the amp portion. I will check for shorts with the 6CA4...- cgrums

Bijou Fireworks
Hello All, It's been quite some time since I've had the opportunity to post here as my DIY audio life has been fairly inactive since completing my beloved Bijou. Unfortunately I am experiencing issues with what has quickly become my hands-down favorite amp. A bit of brief...- cgrums

Bijou All Tube Futterman Headphone Amplifier
What started as a spring break project has finally yielded results! I've gone through 2 amp boards (lifted traces), 4 voltage regulators and a great deal of sweat (no blood thankfully....yet ) but my Bijou is finally alive! It's dead quiet and the sound is fantastic! I'm using Mundorf MCap...- cgrums

Bijou All Tube Futterman Headphone Amplifier
Well my bijou is nearly there. It's been a long time coming and there have been more than a few issues along the way. Current issue; my B+ is rock steady at 250 VDC right up to the point when I put the 6H6PI tubes in. After connecting the output tubes B+ drops to ~138 VDC and I'm not able to...- cgrums

Ha! Dug an old 32 bit computer out of the closet at work (the only one with a parallel port) and it worked just fine! Wrote and verified no problem. Thanks Jamie!- cgrums

Jambo DAC - Build Thread
Hi Jamie, Thanks for taking the time to help me troubleshoot; I'm a mechanical engineer and my programming skills are woefully underdeveloped. I have the AVR I/O selected but when I attempt to probe the connection it responds with 'test failed' I wonder if it's something in my...- cgrums
