Buying portable or in-ear headphones? Seeking guidance? DON'T START A NEW THREAD. Ask for advice HERE!
Quote: Hi Loquah, I chickened out of the 535s as they were much more expensive than the other alternatives and I couldn't find the SE ones in the UK; I gather they do have a different/better sound (I know it's subjective, but I'd prefer to get the one that is more likely to satisfy...- Caudovittatus

Quote: The TF10s are back with Amazon now, though I am almost tempted to give them another try - they are a lot cheaper than the others I'm looking at and I did like the sound a lot - one thing I was less keen on though was that they did seem to get a bit 'confused' with the busier parts...- Caudovittatus

Hi All, From considering Ety HF3, MTPC, SE535 I actually went on to try the UE Triple Fi 10 and (to give on ears a chance) B&W P5. I also found the UE SuperFi 5 vi that I lost months ago in a bush! First the SuperFi 5 vi... these, although they look almost the same as the UE 600...- Caudovittatus

Thanks for the info; I do feel a bit of a muppet having not considered the extra cable option :). I did a quick search and there are a couple that I could use so that opens the field up to pretty much anything that meets the other criteria. I have often considered the Audeo Phonak PFE...- Caudovittatus

Hi all, Please can you advise on my next iem purchase? I currently have Etymotic MC5 and Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5vi (well 600's which replaced the 5vi that I lost). I tend to use the SuperFi's more, mainly because they are more comfortable and they have the volume / music...- Caudovittatus

Totally insane quality for a totally insane price.....The Etymotic mc5 mini review.
Quote: I'm not sure - I think Etymotic list Er6i and ER4 as having the same tip types, whereas only MC5 are only listed as having the same tips as MC3 so I'd assume that the MC3/5 have a slightly different size/shape- Caudovittatus

Totally insane quality for a totally insane price.....The Etymotic mc5 mini review.
Just picked up a pair of MC5's - Love them so far (only a few hours listening). After much fiddling I got the best fit/isolation with the larger of the supplied tri-flange tips. Have any of you bought spare tips so far and if so where did you get them? Only place I could see any was on the...- Caudovittatus

Help choosing IEMs
OK, I went in a different direction entirely, and a bit over-budget. In the end I went for: Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5vi Etymotic MC5 Fiio E5 amp - quite good, but can't charge and amplify at the same time without a lot of noise/interference from the USB connection. So far I really...- Caudovittatus

Help choosing IEMs
Thanks, what's wrong with the RE-0 for my use-case? I see you have quite a haul of IEMs that you can compare with :) I've now taken a look at this thread though: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/450407/multiple-iem-shootout-v-3 ...and I am leaning more towards the Eterna's if...- Caudovittatus

Help choosing IEMs
Thanks for those RE-Zero are one to consider and the DDMs sound very nice too - particularly for the stringed instruments; I expect Boccherini and Bach recordings would benefit from these :) I've sent an e-mail to musicaacoustics.com to request a price, and will consider both; they're a...- Caudovittatus

Help choosing IEMs
Hi all, first post here, I was pointed to this site by a colleague and I've found it very informative so far; only trouble is, I now have too much information :) and wondered if you could help me narrow my selection down further; first a little on my most recent sets: Creative EP630 ->...- Caudovittatus
