How to clean Etymotic foam eartips
I have a pair of ER4-P earbuds and have wanted to try this for a long time. I finally gave it a shot yesterday, and it worked fairly well. I was able to clean old foam eartips so I could reuse them. Here's how I did it. Purchase some hydrogen peroxide from the pharmacy. Pour a small amount in...- bubbaj

Rio Carbon Battery Question
I'm going to by an mp3 player for my daughter for Christmas. I like the Rio Carbon because of the small size, 5GB, audible support, WMA support, and the battery life. However, it appears that the case is totally sealed and thus one cannot replace the battery when it becomes worn out. Is this...- bubbaj

New Application for my Etys
I just discovered a wonderful new use for my Etys. I recently got a TiVo and so I've been a couch potato lately. We have a very open floor plan in the house so the location where the TiVo is located is open to the kitchen, dining room, bedroom. When watching TiVo, it can be quite annoying...- bubbaj

Looking for Bookshelf System Recommendations
I have a very old Awia bookshelf system that is starting to die. We use it for the TV, XM Radio, and to play CD's. Hmmm... since I don't have a DVD player in that room, perhaps I should get a cheap DVD player and then get a receiver. I need to drive two sets of speakers. One by the TV and one...- bubbaj

Poor Quality from Blue Note
Grado, Thanks for the heads up. I'll try my Onkyo on it. However, if it plays fine, Blue Note is certainly NOT off the hook. They put a bunch of copy protection crap on it and if it doesn't play right on ALL my players, then they have released an inferior product. BTW, I have received no... -
Poor Quality from Blue Note
Robert, Yes, CT appears to be the land of corrupt politicians these days. Or at least they're getting caught these days. However, Waterbury's former mayor is a real piece of work. I see you are a "code wrangler". So am I. I keep waiting for my job to be outsourced to India. It's happening... -
Poor Quality from Blue Note
Yesterday I gave a careful listen to Norah Jones' CD "Feels Like Home". Great content, horrible quality. At first I thought it was my equipment, but after some experimentation I knew it was the disc. Reading around the forum, I find that this disk is copy protected. This really pisses me off. So... -
Good news for PC iPod users - iTunes in mid-October.
I agree with maczrool. A typical album has 12 to 14 tunes. That means I'm spending an average of $13 for a CD. But I don't have the CD. I must burn that myself and put it in a case. No liner notes either. Now they are starting to drop the prices of Cds to a list of $13. Which means I can...- bubbaj

Effects on amplifiers for the Etymotic ER4 series....
I find a huge difference between listening with my Ety4p's directly from my SlimX or from my Meta42. Much more detail and clarity. The music seems more alive. You mention a "jukebox". Is your source MP3? If so, there may not be much difference to hear.- bubbaj

Getting Reconnected to Music, Need Recommendations while going through chemo
Steve, First off, my sincere wishes for a complete recovery. I know quite a few friends that have endured the treatments and gone on to live full cancer free lives. I recently found Dana Glover's 1st CD Testimony to be one of my favorites. She has a great voice. You may want to check out... -
