ACS T1 2010 is Mullard xf1 in disguise !!
This is a great news, Huxley. Thanks. Regarding the JH16, IMHO, it is for people who enjoy airiness and a wide sound stage. It offers a very different listening experience, but still pleasant for musical joy. However, the sound stage of the T1's isn't small. If you love the...- bordins

ACS T1 2010 is Mullard xf1 in disguise !!
My apology gorman. Don't believe my writing. Believe in your ears. I suggest you order the Thundebolt (with electrolytic caps, not solid caps) from Dave so that it'll be arriving at the same time. Make sure you use Li-Ion battery.- bordins

ACS T1 2010 is Mullard xf1 in disguise !!
I was asked by some friends to write a mini review on the new ACS T1 2010. It would be useful for sharing it on the head-fi community. My journey on custom IEMs began in 2008 when some UE11 Pros of “dare devils” landed within my driving range. My first impression on custom IEMs was so...- bordins

USB vs Firewire: Is there advantages over the other?
Firewire, by Apple & TI, was purposefully designed for pro audio folks in handling their real-time multi-channel video applications (under critical time control) unlike USB which was primarily for consumers, aimly for being a license-free communication standard in the PC world. Asynchronous...- bordins

DAC or soundcard?
You may be surprised when hear sounds from Asus Xonar STX. Compared to adaptive usb audio interfaces, IMHO, the STX offers better price/performance. Another choice would be TC Konnekt 8 Firewire DAC. This one outperforms most entry-level USB DACs.- bordins

HD800 vs K701 - a bass issue
The HD800 is definitely more transparent than the K701. Recently, I replaced the HD800's stock cables with the APS V3 making the sounds more transparent approaching natural sounds of music played. Nonetheless, you need a decent player and a headamp to be a part of this "equation". My Metric...- bordins

HD800 + really big amp + DAC + EQ = head subwoofers?
Unless you have records that contain DEEP bass, a transparent CDP (DAC) & interconnects, and a powerful headamp, you will never know the HD800's top secret. A friend of mine just replaced a tube in his WA3 (Woo Audio). It turns his HD800 into HD650. It rocks !!!- bordins

Sony CD3000 vs today's closed cans
I just had a chance to try the CD3000 CD2000 and CD1700 driven by my Metric Halo ULN-2. The CD3000 sounds so fantastic and very pleasing !! IMHO, it is one of the best headphones you can find. It falls between the CD2000 (*very* detailed, fast and extended) and the CD1700 (lovely vocal...- bordins
