EHHA Rev A - Interest Thread

I run dual E12s on my EHHA RevA and have no issues using the AMB default values with LCD-2s.   I had some early annoying quirkiness on one channel, but after I redid all the molex crimping that went away.   If I recall correctly, the E12 will trip if I sweep the volume knob really fast with...

Outstanding, muskyhuntr.  First class build.   I have a couple NIB pairs of telfunken if you're interested.   DG300B = diy has its grip on you.  What cans you using?  Would like to try that one myself.   BK

    Help me find this pot

Looks very much like the unit I used on my first cmoy amp kit from JDS Labs.  Check out their diy parts section - they seem to carry the pot.   BK

Sounds like me:  cmoy --> mini3 --> EHHA revA.  Take your time, lean on the helpful folks here if required, and you'll have no problem.  Set aside some time for chassis work and wiring (that'll be new compared to your prior projects).  Go for it - great amp!   BK

That's the right solvent - nice high purity.  Use more of it, and go back 3-4 times if you need to.  Use an old tooth brush and/or cheap acid brush to help loosen things up mechanically.  Blot the wet surface with paper towels and discard.  For the final rinses you'll want to use clean solvent...

    DIY Cable Gallery!!

I need to make and sleeve a DC power umbilical to go between a DIY amp power supply and a DIY amp (16 wires, 18ga each, 22 inches in length).  What's a high quality flexible product to use for this application and I where should I buy it?  Some of the cheap "techflex" I've seen is stiff and ugly...

Those are Bulgin stainless steel vandal-proof momentary illuminated switches (i.e., Bulgin MPI002/28/BL).  Available in single or dual color, and probably latching, too.  Kinda pricey, but very nice.   BK

the CTH (Compact Tube Hybrid) Rev A thread...

I've never heard the SOHAII, but the CTH has tremendous grins/$ and grins/cm2, and it holds its own against many larger and high-dollar setups.  The component density can be challenging, but it's a very satisfying project that you can literally "hold in your hand" and admire.  In a lot of ways...

the CTH (Compact Tube Hybrid) Rev A thread...

Goes without saying, but socketing those positions makes changing the R18 values quick & easy and low risk.   The little CTH drives my LCD-2 very nicely.  Certainly not lacking in the bass department.  Pretty sure I'm using the default R18 value or something close to it.  Sounds so good I...

the CTH (Compact Tube Hybrid) Rev A thread...

Looking good, mrhk13!     Cmoy to CTH is a huge step up in terms of build complexity and SQ.   Options for the center tube hole are a greenlee type hole punch, a uni-bit. or a dremel and lots of patience.  The hole punch makes the cleanest hole, which can be important if you don't plan...
