Nuforce Icon HD, UDAC-2 or AudioengineD1 for HD-600?
I have the uDAC-2 - I like the portability, since I can use it either at home or on the road (with other phones). Some people have been raising concerns that measurements show the uDAC-2 to be kind of weird (http://www.head-fi.org/t/542281/nuforce-udac-2-drama-detailed-measurements), but I...- betelguese05

Any idea on what kind of gear will be there? I've been really hankering to try the LCD2's and the GS1000i's.- betelguese05

Please Please Please Help Me Choose Some God Damn Headphones I Spent a Lot of Time Making This Thread
Quote: There aren't a ton of options in that price range but one option is to get a SR60i/80i/125i and use the g-cush pads (salad bowls). They were originally for the GS1000's but they fit on all the grados - and from what I hear are extremely comfortable.- betelguese05

AKG K701/K702 vs. AKG Q701?
Quote: I would just do what I did and go with whichever is cheaper. I got a great price on the least desired of the 701/2 line, the bright green Q701's - it was $100 cheaper than any of the other 70x's I found (low $100's total).- betelguese05

Quote: I have been considering going for either the 1000i or the Audeze LCD2's. I wish more places had the 1000i's in stock to try so that I wouldn't be as blind when purchasing :P- betelguese05

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread
Quote: Speaking of cables, I would like to complain about the quality of the replacement cables Shure sells for use with a phone. It has a microphone on the cable, you know the style. The build quality is just terrible - I had this cable go out twice before I just gave up, stopped replacing...- betelguese05

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread
Honestly the thing that makes the SE535 worthwhile for me is the noise cancellation. The sound is good - I think I prefer my HD600s on the whole - but for listening to music on a day-to-day basis, the 535's get much more playtime since I can use them at work. In comparison to the 600's -...- betelguese05

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Quote: I find it hard to believe that the grill makes any difference whatsoever. My HD600's left ear grill got a little bit punched in and I haven't noticed any difference in sound at all.- betelguese05

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
I certainly like my HD600's, but I find myself wishing that it had more soundstage. Could it be my DAC/amp? I'm currently using the uDAC-2. I'm considering nabbing a pair of K701's for the increased soundstage (and brightness, which honestly doesn't bother me).- betelguese05

My first pair of real headphones were SR60s. I guess there are now a couple of competitors in the $80 price range but I find it hard to believe that the SR60(i) isn't still on top.- betelguese05
