confused; tread, steps, what? my head hurts!
If you look at the schematic for the TREAD, tangent gives resistor values for setting the output of the TREAD to 12-35V.- beerad

Where's all the OPA627's ?
Futurlec has them for $13.90. I ordered a few a few weeks ago, and got them in about a week from Thailand. Well worth the wait. Looks like they're still in stock. http://www.futurlec.com/ICLinearOpAmps1.shtml- beerad

I like Pandora, I've gotten turned on to a lot of music though it that I never would have found otherwise, but 128 kbit/s really hurts.- beerad

Show your Ignorance! What songs did you NOT know were covers?
I thought Hendrix wrote Hey Joe for about 30 years. I never have heard the original performer's version, though. -
Roll Call: Who's building, built, or thinking of building a beta22?
I will build one late this summer/early fall, but I have a couple of other amps to build first, both for education and experience. I find that the more experience I get, the better job I do, and I want the B22 to be done right. Also, I'd like to have some understanding of it while I build it.- beerad

n00b diy questions...
Tangent has some books and resources listed on his website at http://www.tangentsoft.net/elec/reviews/ I would add Electronics Demystified for a high level introduction to electronics. The Art of Electronics is pretty much the bible, and a student lab manual is available if you really want to...- beerad

Hmmm, this is easily simulated by simply squeezing the white headband endpiece against the white headband stop with your thumb and fingers. I get no change in comfort or sound, but the K701 seems to fit me pretty well. Maybe I have a big head, or its oddly shaped, I dunno..- beerad

Wow Dave Mathews Band!!... please recommend
Dave shines Live. A couple of my faves are Live at Luther College (Tim is great here) Live at Red Rocks There are literally thousands of DMB boots out. Most are so-so, but a few are excellent. Unfortunately, I'm not at home for a while (months), so I can't comment which ones are exceptional. -
What was your first exposure to the WWW ?
Circa '86 I had BITnet mailing list and usenet access through work at a large university. That was usenet news' heyday. My first web access was via Mosaic whenever it came out. The web was pretty sparse then, pretty much useless. If you'd told me then what the web would be like, I would've been...- beerad

New Project (Finally) Starting, searching for PCS Layouts
You might look at the CKKIII. I haven't built one yet, but it's supposed to sound quite good. PCB and documentation available from AMB at http://www.amb.org/audio/ck2/ I am pleased with the way my PIMETA sounds, though, so I think it is a good choice too.- beerad
