[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
Quote: Well I thought I'd refresh people's minds a little and add some new pictures of the old favourite of everyone :-) The box is a nice size and you can feel the quality. Opening the box is like opening a treasure chest inside a treasure chest just hinting at...- azmadu

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
After what seemed like an age (some strange processing problem on Play.com website meant my order was just waiting for three days not processing), my MDR-EX1000 arrived in my hand today :-) I'm currently listening to some Vangelis on my NWZ-F805 using my MDR-EX700s so it'll be interesting...- azmadu

Sony NWZ-F806 mini review (& F-series player reviews / impressions / discussion)
Quote: Yeah I also am puzzled why the F's EQ only goes down to 400Hz when the frequecy range does go a lot lower and the supplied headphones also reproduce frequencies around 8 - 10Hz. Very odd choice of cut off which could probably be changed with a firmware update??- azmadu

Sony NWZ-F806 mini review (& F-series player reviews / impressions / discussion)
Quote: You know you're absolutely correct about the Clear Bass and sub frequencies, but just now I switched everything off, switched on Dynamic Normaliser and Clear Stereo and yeah the sub bass frequencies really come through significantly with what I'm listening to right now (Richard...- azmadu

NEW Sony Walkman Z Series mini review!!!
Hi guys, This may have been asked previously but there are too many pages to go through. Has anyone ordered a 64GB Z direct from Japan to the UK, and if so where from and how much did you pay for shipping and duty etc? Thanks- azmadu

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
Quote: I was fortunate to see one being sold on Play.com for the paltry price of £287. There were two being sold with the 2nd one priced at £499 so I made like Speedy Gonzalez and threw my money at them quick time (SotelPlay was the seller and are based in Germany). Actually I've...- azmadu

Sony NWZ-F806 mini review (& F-series player reviews / impressions / discussion)
Hi guys, I haven't read the entire 90 pages in this thread so apologies if this question has been asked and answered already. I have the F805 (yeah don't laugh at me cos I'm in the UK) and upon using it the first time I did the system update which changed the EQ for the CLear Bass from 3...- azmadu

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
Quote: Glad to know I'm not the only person listening to that soundtrack, it's fantastic and I was lucky enough to see the film on the big screen. Is there a place on Head-fi where people can talk about what music they use to test/enjoy their listening equipment?- azmadu

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
Quote: Oh, I forgot to say that these are so comfortable in my ears that they feel so snug and secure that they probably won't fall out, whereas the 300s I was constantly fiddling with to keep them in or get the right balance etc etc. I'm using the large (LL) silicon tips and they really...- azmadu

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
Quote: I picked them up from PO depot this morning and couldn't wait to plug them in to my NWZ-F805 at work but when I did WOW! The difference between these and the supplied EX300s was staggering and I had to turn the volume down on the player. I thought to myself, hold on is it...- azmadu

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
Quote: I've been looking on their site as well but wasn't sure if I should buy because I wasn't sure how much it would actually cost to have them shipped. I used the dutycalculator.com site but luckily I found a pair on Play.com for £287.95 (only 1 at that price of course) and I've just...- azmadu

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
Quote: Well they only cost me £55 so I can't really go too wrong and they won't be my main listening units. I've still got a pair of XBA-1s waiting for a test run and I'm hunting for a pair of EX1000s as I've mentioned so I won't be short on earphones to use. Even the EX300s that come...- azmadu

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
It seems as if I've been bitten by the 'bug' and last night I've acquired a pair of MDR-EX700 (used, but not much and still boxed with all accessories) and it will be interesting to compare these with the EX-1000 (when I get a pair). I originally had a pair of what appeared to be EX-700s...- azmadu
