Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition
I have one set of 007A but haven't modded it, and frankly was never crazy about the earlier versions of them. I think the 007, which sounds like nothing on most STAX drivers, maybe with the exception of the 14S, sounds crazy good on the BHSE, so I use that pairing. Maybe others can weigh in on...- ALSO

Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition
Each will have a preference I'm sure, but BHSE is the first amplifier that truly opened up the 007 mk 1 for me--until then I never understood the fuss, but now they are my favorite. But they don't quite work for the 009, in my opinion, which I pair with a Mjölnir-Audio KGSSHV mini Carbon.- ALSO

Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition
Thank you icebear, and everyone else. In the end it was a blown fuse, everything working again. My apologies for the embarrassing queries, but thank you for the quick responses and suggestions.- ALSO

Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition
I found one of the AC input fuses had blown. I replaced them several times with new fuses but each time the unit would power in momentarily--the LEDs in the PS and amp would light up for a fraction of second--before going dead. Any thoughts? With thanks in advance.- ALSO

Thank you statfi and bearFNF, I'll double-check all four fuses today. I'm not sure if thE fuses blew on powering on, I wasn't paying attention when I'd switched the unit on.- ALSO

Thanks for the replies--I did change the fuses, but will buy some new ones just in case. I also use a power conditioner, and the other components are powering fine, so I'll wait for suggestions from Justin.- ALSO

Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition
While I'm waiting for a response from Justin, I wanted to ask those who will know much more than me for some advice. I received my BHSE last May and it's been running beautifully without issue since then. I've not moved it nor tampered with it since I set it up. Several days ago it...- ALSO

Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition
Thanks for all the positive responses; have to say I had the same feeling, Arnaud when I saw your blue BHSE but I agree that the unit itself is so attractive that the color only adds to its appeal. Any of the color options will shine in the end. The only alternative is to order another one in...- ALSO

Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition
Adding my report. My BHSE (gray) also arrived this week, ordered July 2013. I'll echo everyone's sentiment that the craftsmanship is stunning, and the design uniquely elegant. Unlike Arnaud, I couldn't wait to set it up as soon as it arrived. But like Arnaud, I had an initial glitch...- ALSO

Gilmore Lite Amp Owners Unite!
dmort, I've since traded the Foster, so I can't reproduce the pairing to refresh my memory, but at the time, I found it a good match, within the restrictions of a closed phone. I mostly listen through electrostats, so GLite is the only dynamic amp I own, and unless I make major changes in the...- ALSO

The Stax Thread III
Right, exactly. I bought this pair used in Japan. It came with a lot of the accessories, but no serial number. I changed the earpads and headband and overall it seems in decent shape. It sounds good, as far as I can tell, but can't figure out the block.- ALSO

It seems the only way to adjust them would be to remove them, and then reattach them on the other side of the blocks. Not sure it would work even then.- ALSO
