Favorite Prog-Rock/Metal of the past 10 years?

Thanks for the Cog recommendation!   I would have to say Porcupine Tree, but they've been around longer than 10 years.

    Bands like Tool

    Maybe check out Karnivool.

Please help me find more music!

I'd recommend some Opeth. There is some growling in there, but not throughout the entire song. Progressive metal. Maybe some Riverside. Progressive Rock/Heavy Rock. Or some Karnivool. A lighter version of Tool. Ancestors - Neptune with Fire is a pretty great album too. Stoner Rock...

Why are most concerts released in DVD format and not CD?

Most likely because people would like to see the concert as well as hear it. You can most definitely rip the audio tracks out of a DVD into FLAC. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f15/ho...ac-mp3-378195/

    Baroness - Blue Album

Saw Baroness Friday night and it was great! They played stuff from all of their albums, and now I have to agree with Sabrage, hearing the Blue Album stuff live changed my mind about the word 'disappointment'.

    Baroness - Blue Album

Yea I keep listening to it hoping it grabs me like the Red Album did, and I'm liking it more and more each listen, but I was hooked on the Red Album after the first song :P

    Baroness - Blue Album

Ok, I guess I should clarify...the album is still good, but not as good as the Red Album, in my opinion!

    Baroness - Blue Album

Is that because it's better live?

    Baroness - Blue Album

You basically described my exact feelings on the matter. Going to see Baroness tomorrow night though! I hope they play more stuff from their EPs and Red Album.
