This was a fantastic first meet for me. Special thanks to dBel84 and Andrew for all the help and information I got. I have to agree with dBel on the Maximo IM590...Definitely the best IEM I heard today in the lower end price range. Far better than the Turbines IMO.

My brother might join me...If he does I'll try to convince him to bring his Bose QC3s.

Second the M50

Alright...Let me at least defend myself I want to use the M50s as my portable phones and 11ft is a ridiculous length for a straight cable. Wrapping the extra ~7 ft of cable up and carrying it around my university campus is not exactly ideal. And recabling these isn't really an option.

Bought myself a pair of ATH-M50s headphones about a week and a half ago off of ebay. Had it shipped to my parents house because I will be moving back there on Wednesday and I didn't want it shipped to my university after I left. The headphones have been sitting there unopened for several days...

How much did the kit happen to cost you?

Has anyone compared the two? I'm assuming people here would prefer the high performance (OPA690ID, AD8397ARDZ) but would the non-high performance model still be a good portable for <$100?
