Initial install was fine for me. But now, 8 months later after trying to play a Vimeo video, I lost sound and no matter what online help I've tried, no sound also. Anybody have a solution? thanks.

Audio-Technica ATH-AD700. Compressed sound. Lumpy bass, rolled off treble. So bad I at first thought they were fake. So I checked. They're not.

Hey Grylls: I have the same, but sometimes use Fiio line out adapter with Fiio e6. Which seems to strengthen the bottom. I'm listening to mostly Flac files. Can make me smile.

I have them. I got them for 125 with Fiio E6 a while back. Best IE's I've owned in the $100-150 range, (they're accurate and breathe), though lack some bass.

You well may be right. I'm using Transcend 32 GB 133x . The only other path I can think of, (probably a long shot though) is to uninstall RB and then re-install.

Sorry I wasn't clear.  I did boot to ipod with flash drive and apple firmware, played the same audio file and there was no distortion. Distortion seems to be only with rockbox, ipod, and flashdrive. and it doesn't matter if I use rockbox EQ'er or not.

After the 2nd HDrive went bad a couple years ago, I put the non Rockboxed Ipod in a drawer and forgot about it. Recently installed the flash drive and Rockbox.  I tested a couple of the distorted files on the stock IPod and there is no distortion.  Not all files are distorted on the RB'd Ipod...

I converted my ipod video to 30gb flash drive. Rockboxed it but now many files are distorted. With or without EQ. Using Brainwavz B2's. Sound and files are fine on my Sansa Clip + and Zune hd 30. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
