    How do you afford list

Besides the countless KSC-75s I've bought for $6-15, I own only a couple pairs of "real" headphones, my Audio Technica A500s and Denon D7000s, so I've stayed in the black pretty easily

    Denon AH-D7000

Ugh, noticed just now that one stitch on the right earpad broke and I've only used them for a few hours total. I hope the entire pad doesn't fall apart within a few weeks. How are all of yours doing?

    Denon AH-D7000

Quote:   Haha yeah that works at home... but it's humongous and I also want to be able to take them with me (e.g. to work, etc.).

    Denon AH-D7000

Apparently Ultrasone 900 vs. DT770 (as per my old thread) is solved by getting Denon D7ks. I can't get over how good they sound un-broken-in even straight out of a 4th gen iPod Touch, and how much more comfortable they are compared to my Audio-Technica A500s    Anyone have any headphone case...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 or DT770 (250ohm) or..?

Quote: Rottweiler head.. hahaha (I have a rottweiler myself). My head is pretty big so glasses, hats, and now I guess headphones are always a problem.. I put in an order for the Denon D7000 via J&R... hoping to have better luck with that  They quoted $899, I could've probably gone lower...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 or DT770 (250ohm) or..?

Quote: Thanks, I'll start with that same guy who quoted the D5000s for me (got his extension #). Definitely sending these back on Monday...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 or DT770 (250ohm) or..?

Quote:   Yeah, so I figured. At this point I'm actually almost tempted to spring for the Denon D7000s since no one has the D5000 in stock that I could find. J&R quoted $429.99 for the 5k, guess I'll give them a call tomorrow and see how much they want for the 7000s.   Also, an...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 or DT770 (250ohm) or..?

Oh man, you guys were right... that headband on the Ultrasones isn't the most comfortable design. Definitely presses on the top of my head, though I can tune out the slight pressure if I focus on the music. They must be designed for pretty small heads, given that I have to extend both "arms" all...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 or DT770 (250ohm) or..?

Thanks guys, I think I'm gonna try the Ultrasones and rely on Amazon's return policy if they're unbearably uncomfortable...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 or DT770 (250ohm) or..?

Quote:   Hmm so all closed headphones have that problem I see... My Audio-Technica A500s are pretty bad with this but they have nasty vynil/pleather/whatever earpads. I assume velour will be an improvement though...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 or DT770 (250ohm) or..?

Quote:   I think I've skipped the D5000s just because I can't find a reliable-sounding source selling them (new) for under $699...    Comfort is definitely a priority though, good call :)

    Ultrasone Pro 900 or DT770 (250ohm) or..?

I'm looking to buy a pair of full-sized closed headphones to use at work and I was all set on the DT770s until I saw the Pro 900s mentioned in a thread here... The Pro 900s would be stretching the budget a bit already, but is there anything else that's great and in the $200-400 range that I'm...

Ugh. Auzentech X-Meridian died (?), need new sound. (~$200)

Whoa, the STX looked good but then I realized that yes, I'm on Head-Fi and yes, it's designed for headphone listening - lacks a subwoofer output, which would be very useful for me.. The D2X still looks good though. Is the Auzen Forte really that good? For some reason I'm skeptical of a...

Ugh. Auzentech X-Meridian died (?), need new sound. (~$200)

Nothing certain yet, but my computer froze and when I rebooted, it was lacking an audio device. I rebooted again, still nothing. Optical outputs aren't glowing anymore No idea what happened yet, going to try re-seating it in other slots, and messing with it later. Running my iPod Touch to the...

Why does Bose sound so good?

See, I thought Bose sounded that good too, until I got a pair of real non-Bose headphones. It's all an illusion.
