Normally I'd agree with you. But the thing is, that W5 does sound incredibly, even though that Fountek and rest of components have very low price. With those boxes it's about engineering, what Sven Boenicke did with drivers and box itself. I'm not saying that those are the best ones out there...

Agreed on B7 vs. L7 part. It's basically the same thing (same engines, analogue and digital parts) with power supply in separated box or integrated with rest of electronics. From what I know, in B7 power supply is actually even a bit more complicated than in L7. And B7 gets fancy blue PCB. As...

Not sure about Mac OS, but HQplayer has the best algorithms do do PCM>DSD on the fly, at least some of my friends, owners of L7 say... I personally use Foo and it works like a charm.

But are you using it? I'm asking because I upsample every material I have to DSD via Foobar. DSD engine in all 7 family sounds much better than PCM one, and IMO that's the key to get the best out of those DAC-s.

  Those WE101D-L you have really are something. The best ones I've heard thus far. But that aside, "7" really is something special. I see no other DAC I'd like to have. I assume you're using DSD engine, not PCM one, right?
