I built one of these for a member here and really liked the sound hence I built this one for my own use. This amp is designed by Wayne Colburn from Pass Labs, more info can be found here.
Changes I made from the stock kit:
1. Input coupling capacitors are jumped.
2. Dual OPA627 are used for the Opamp input stage ($70)
3. Matched quad of Toshiba 2SK2013/2SJ313 MOSFETs are used for the output stage instead of the stock IRF devices. These has been long obsolete and genuine ones are a little hard to find these days. ($85)
4. C12, C17, C22, C25 are replaced with bi-polar electrolytics (inexpensive)
5. I didn't install the front panel LED, as it need to be glued there and I prefer not to. If you need power on indication you can see the red power supply LEDs through the grid on the top plate.
Unit is functionally perfect, I'm selling to get some budget for other more expensive DIY projects.
Price reflects total cost of materials, I will cover shipping in CONUS but not paypal fee. Local pickup in Chicago area welcome.
Thanks for looking
