You've been through the round of high-end headphones but still crave that real soundstage width, depth and height with true immersion in the music? You got used to the tonal accuracy and speed of modern headphones and concerned you'd need to spend 10x more to get the same out of loudspeakers? Then you've come to the right place and this loudspeaker is your answer .

Why I am selling then? I truly lack space in a tiny Japanese apartment to fully exploit these and won't be moving anytime soon + spend little time home as I'm into cycling and running a lot these days + would actually use the funds toward another hobby.

I bought these new in summer 2022, the warranty cards are still on the boxes as shown in the pictures (3 years manufacturer warranty) but I'm afraid this warranty won't apply outside japan.

They've been exclusively driven from an Accuphase E-800 integrated amp and are in perfect working conditions / as new. Visually, the laquer finish is a pain because so easy to scratch and you may notice small scratch on the top right of one of them (as I initially had them upside down in a nearfield listening setup). Looking closely, you may also see a very slight tint change over the top surface of both speakers which is a residue of silicon pads I was using at the time (earthquake prone Japan, can't take chances on a speaker falling down...). I suppose there's a way to clean this up (and also probably for the scratches) but I haven't dared trying.

I chose these speakers after numerous listenings in audio stores, including comparisons with B&W 805, Focal sopra 1 and other Magico A1. To my taste, these TAD are extremely dynamic, lively, don't present any coloration with excellent tonal balance, total absence of mechanical or acoustic resonances. They're particularly transparent and extend up top as good as it gets while never sounding bright, harsh or overdone (I'm picky with this, I owned high-end stax gear and have been spoiled with transparent / coherent transducers ). We're for instance far from 805 in terms of tonal accuracy, it's pretty easy to discern on voices or piano tracks.

The other big advantage of these reasonably compact speakers is their ability to disappear, creating a scene not only deep / large but also layered in height, something I've never heard on headphones, nor with loudspeakers for that matter. I'm a sucker for layering and being able to pick instruments among others and get a visual image of their placement on the stage, and this speaker delivers plenty in that regard.

Shipping will be in the original boxes (2 x 20kg), insured / by air. From looking at Japan post, assuming for example shipping to california / USA (will ship worldwide, please enquire), it'd be ~700USD for the pair shipped by EMS with delivery within 3 days:
