Selling new-in-box NOS matched pair of Sylvania Gold Brand GB-5751 Gray Plate, Triple Mica. These are the highly sought-after tubes that go for very hefty sums on the aftermarket.

These are compatible with amps that use common 12AU7/12AX7/12AT7 tubes. I used these for approximately 3 hours with my MHA200 and found them indistinguishable from the similar black plate versions which predate these gray plate ones. Neither version has been adequately burned in, so that may explain it.

The screen printing on the tubes are partially worn off. The original boxes are pretty flimsy with easily torn off flaps (my bad). The pins are quite clean.

As for the sound signature, I'll let Joe's Tube Lore explain it best:

"To my ears it is the the 2nd or 3rd best 5751 ranking up there with the Sylvania & GE black plates. Its strength is its midrange, but it may also be its weakness. The mids here are full, lush, tangible and maybe (just maybe) a trifle overblown. Occasionally i find the lush full vocals obscure just a bit of detail and reduce transparency slightly, but the mids are so lush I could understand how you might not care. The tube also has a measure of life and vibrancy, similar to the Sylvania's black plates and it also has a bit of the forwardness that's seems to be endemic to Sylvanias in the 5751 family."
