Sugden Class A Headphone Amp and Preamp that I've been using both ways with excellent results. Performs 100%, is quiet in operation with wonderful Class A sound you expect from Sugden. Cosmetically the graphics on the top of case were worn so I just flipped over the top as you see in the pictures.
This is a later version that is outfitted with volume remote control. After confirming the proper type with Sugden I ordered one for this sale (see last picture). It controls volume only and works perfectly, same as the original Sugden remote.
