I am re-listing this set of earspeakers with its extras. I had originally posted a few years ago and then decided to keep them. They've mostly spent the last few years just sitting in its case, not being used as I am mostly on the go. Still in excellent condition and I am ready to sell because they are not being used.

For sale is my STAX set that I bought pre-owned in Akihabara, Japan that I restored and upgraded. I don't really have time to enjoy these as much anymore and they've just been sitting on my desk.

The SRS-3030 is composed of two individual pieces: the SR-303 Earspeakers, and the SRM-313 Energizer.

This set is part of the old Lambda Series lineup from STAX, sits between the less expensive SRS-2020 and the more expensive SRS-4040, and is generally considered to be the sweet spot in price to performance.

Sound wise, the SR-303 is naturally warmer the modern SR-307, but is also a tad brighter. I found this to be more exciting than the newer STAX, which is a part of the reason I chose to buy it. Honestly other than that, most Lambdas, save for the SR-700, sounded within 5-10% similar to each other, to my ears at least.

The amp (energizer, whatever) is pretty awesome. It actually has 2 dials that make up the volume knob, one for each channel. This way, you can adjust the channel balance on the fly and make it just right for your specific hearing. Sound quality wise it is great, I've tried other higher end STAX with it such as the SR-007 and 009, and though they sound good with this amp (significantly better sounding than the lower end SRM-212), the higher end earspeakers really wanted the power of the higher end STAX amps than with this mid-game amp. But realistically if you're getting a 009 you better be willing to pay out for a higher end amp than this lol.

In Depth Background:

They were a bit dirty when I bought them, and the foams from the pads were deteriorated. I cleaned them up and replaced the pads with the upgraded leather pads. The pads cost $90-120 in the states, but were half that in Japan, so I had to go for it. Noticeably softer and better conformity to your head, slightly better low end performance after upgrade.

I’ve owned them for almost a year, and have babied them to the best of my ability since their purchase. Kept under a dust protector while not in use. Because this is the Japanese version, you must use a step down converter for the amp to work properly. Condition is near perfect on the earspeakers themselves, cannot find any signs of damage and the earpads are newly replaced. The amp has a few tiny dings in the paint, but they are very hard to notice. I’ve included pictures of all the physical defects I could find. Overall 9.5/10 condition.

The set includes the original manuals, but no original box or warranty. Also includes different STAX brochures that I found on my travels.

I live in the Bay Area of California, and I can drive to meet you if you want to check it out.

Let me know if you have any questions!
