This is one of those "never say never". This is the best DAP I have ever owned. However I am now a streaming only listener since Apple Music has added hi res lossless. As you know, the WM1z is a pure DAP with no streaming app capability.

I am the original owner and purchased the WM1z from Crutchfield in Aug 2018. Soon thereafter, I send my WM1z to Music Sanctuary in Singapore to have their K-Mod Ultimate and Battery Mod installed in Jan 2019. Here are my impressions and details of the K-Mod:

Impressions

Cosmetically the WM1z is in excellent shape with just a couple very minor scratches on the chassis. It has always had a screen protector installed and in a case. Speaking of cases, the original case was only used for about a week so pretty much new. I've been using the Dignis case and it has some wear and patina since that is how the Dignis leather is suppose to age.

Functionally, everything works 100%. I have changed the country code to Japan and installed Project Z firmware from @MrWalkman. This is the version where you can have the classic tuning by booting with the lock button disabled or the plus tuning by booting with the lock button enabled. I personally find the classic the best sounding. If you would like me to change country back to US and/or revert back to stock firmware, please let me know and I'll take care of it before shipping.

Other details - 745 hours of play time and all files and settings will be reset before shipping.
