Every time I put these on to listen, I find myself saying "just one more track." But after ordering a VC and LCD-5, I can't justify having more than two TOTL pairs around (a self-imposed rule to prevent me from hoarding stuff). If I had to pick just one headphone to own to cover all of my genres, it'd be these since they allow me to just enjoy the music and not the gear itself (tho they're still surprisingly resolving).

The presentation of the Z1R is just so agreeable in many ways. To some ears, it's the most optimal closed back.

These are just over a year old, ordered from Crutchfield on Christmas '20. The build quality is superb. I can't detect any noticeable flaws or scratches. The stock pads are in great condition as well since most of my time with them was with the Dekoni pads. I prefer a bit more thicc and cushy pads, tho the stock pads are amazing in quality. I've never used the balanced cable, but the stock 3.5mm cable does have some signs of wear.
