Rare incredible digital music center -- the Resolution Audio Cantata 2.0 is Jeff Kalt's brainchild product which launched the company to fame, and in its 2nd iteration (new $6500 USD) -- considered to be among the best digital players (Weiss, Berkeley, dCS) under $10k. Rarely listed for sale. The machined top is unique to each unit and there's no two units w/ the same pattern!
This is a digital front end which can be used a DAC (balanced Burr-Brown 1704 R2R!) via its USB/Toslink/AES/coax inputs, end point player (via Ethernet), or front-slot CD player, and is also a digital pre-amplifier w/ volume control via remote control to allow direct balanced & single-ended connection to an amplifier. I went between this and my Vinnie Rossi L2 DAC ($10k+ unit) and could not decide which one I liked more.... it has that R2R musicality magic that keeps toe tapping and air guitars going.
I used this in my living room but unfortunately am selling the whole system. Unit is in pristine condition, rated 8/10 only for age, and all original wooden crate/packaging/manual/cables and TWO remotes included.
