I am really trying to thin the herd right now and so some amazing gear is on the block. This is a good condition Stax SR-007 mk1. Early model (Serial #70759) with carbon fiber case.
Sounds wonderful, I have had no issues with it (I have had a previous model that had intermittent cut-outs, but no issues with this one).
For about 6 months, this was my daily driver and I thought it melded the electrostatic sound with a mid-bassy and warm sound signature, more like a dynamic can than a planar (for that, I think the ES-1a acts more like a hybrid of electrostatic and planar, with it's strong sub-bass). At that time, it provided me the best headphone experience I had.
But since I got the ZMF Atrium and the Stratus / Glenn combo, I use that combo for a warm, mid-bassy yet detailed sound and I just don't listen to these as much anymore. I replaced the stock headband and pads with custom-made Vesper Audio pads.
I am looking to get $1600 net to me, and we’ll split shipping. SoCal pickup also open.
