It’s with a heavy heart that I’ve decided to list these, one of my most prized headphones; but the reality is I am never using them due to them being in collector’s condition. If a headphone doesn’t get its head time, what’s the point? I would like it to go out to someone who will cherish and hopefully use it.

As opposed to STAX e-stats which favor a more ethereal/ soft tonality and diffuse stage, the HE60 has the advantage of sharp & incisive transients & dynamics along with what I would consider the best midrange in a headphone except HE1 & probably HE90. I have not heard HE90 but I expect these to be similarly voiced from what I’ve been told.

This is very reminiscent of the HE1 without the same bass richness of the statement product nor the amplification restrictions.

This headphone excels at vocals, strings (especially electric or acoustic guitar, simply magical) and general engagement factor. Its shortcomings are of a more immediate, intimate and hyper-detailed if not sometimes sharp treble. This headphone commands your attention, à la Utopia but bread with the tonality of an HD580/ HD600 on steroids.

Now the important information:

- Earpads and headband pads are brand new from last year with ~10 hours head time on them. They are firm and foam is 100% healthy in its spring-back
- New O rings
- Channels are matched
- No dust contamination
- Original cable unaltered (mjolnir HE60 to STAX adaptor included)

I recommend this on warmer energizers, or if using an SRD7 variant through speaker amp, using a tube pre-amp is delightful.

I believe these are the cleanest pair of HE60 in the wild unless there exists some new in box pairs still.

So many memories! Back in the day, I owned probably 5 pairs of these and it's really a special headphone.
So what made you move them on?

So what made you move them on?
Truth be told I haven’t moved on but once it’s sold I will need to.

Mainly just an absurd amount of headphones and a realization that I should shave down from 30 to ~5. I’m trying to get away from electrostatic for now as it’s a deep rabbithole and to avoid being tempted by a T2, I shouldn’t have gear that begs for it… lol.

And well lastly, as in description, I’m OCD & feel guilty not using it and enjoying it. I was the same with my previous K1000 and it’s anything but rational
