Up for sale is my Nakamichi PA-7 with STASIS technology developed by Nelson Pass. Nakamichi was supposed to just license the STASIS technology, which combines the benefits of Class A amplification without the drawbacks (runs stupid hot = very low reliability) into a hybrid Class A/Class AB power amplifier with optical bias. Well, they didn’t just license STASIS. Rather, the first generation of the PA-7 is a direct copy of the equivalent Threshold amp that was significantly more expensive! A lawsuit ensues, then Nakamichi releases the PA-7II with an altered design.

However, as the story goes, everyone "knows the first gen is the one to get".

Anyway, this amp is a beast! It provides 200 WPC into 8 ohms. The amp is in wonderful condition for it's age, showing some light wear but really well cared for. You'll see some light scratches (mostly to the lid) and one of the 8 screws holding the lid sheared off on the back corner. I am also including a "cool top" that I purchased for it that I never got around to installing. This has additional venting for cooler operation. If the new owner wants to install I suggest they adjust the bias for proper operation with the additional cooling. Because of the weight of this item I need to restrict shipping to the lower 48 states.

Very cool! GLWS.

Ooooh Lordie!

I know that one! Design "finalised" (read: err, "rented") in 1987, first out locally in 1988, yessir!
The youngsters missed out on the golden era.
Your rack had any balls, bit higher up from this one, there'd be a 1000ZXL, flooring your guests every time. Oh yeah.

Sorry..

Best of luck with the sale, and bless you for making me smile @cradams1020
