Selling the second best SS amp in existence in my opinion — the MASS-Kobo 394ii. (First place would go to its big brother the MASS-Kobo 465 if you positively need even more power, but the 394ii drives a HE-5 just fine.) Amp is less than 4 months old (40 hours or less of usage) and is in mint / like new condition. Presents epically great and linear sonics with effortless authority and grip in a Japanese artisan-crafted package.

Selling as I’ve come to realize I’m a tube amp kind of guy but otherwise this is a spectacular amp.

Specs for the technically inclined: https://masskobo.com/shop-en/m394.htm

And for the makers out there, here is a video of Masuda-san individually crafting volume knobs:

Price includes PP fees and shipping within CONUS.

Thank you for your interest.

Amazing amp. As good a SS amp as any sane person needs. Great seller, great price for an amp that is basically impossible to find.

GLWS!

I've owned the OOR/Hypsos, the CFA-3 maxed out, the audio-gd HE-9, and this bests them all- by A LOT.

Honestly- even the claim of the seller that the bigger brother- the 465 is better- is not absolutely true. I have PM'ed someone who has heard both extensively and he said the 465 is more powerful and warmer and can do certain things that no other headphone amplifier can do, but the 394 MK2 is more neutral, more transparent, and personal tastes could make the difference. Most would take the 465 over the 394, but not everyone....that was the jist of his comparison.

A miracle amplifier with stunning transparency, supreme control of the drivers, and tube-like heft.

Yet- the size and weight of the amplifier make it look like a childs toy- even compared to the oor.

I have no idea how the manufacturer figured this one out. Japanese genius.

By the way- if you want more power- like the 465, more warmth- like the 465, and a remote for the volume, put a tube preamp behind it. I'm not saying that it will sound exactly like the 465 of course- but more in that direction at a fraction of the cost. In my opinion the combination of the preamp with the 394 MK2 is a substantial upgrade in sound over the 394 alone.

I use the audio-gd HE-1 tube preamp- and it is a wonderful combination.
