As my feedback may Indicate I like to try a LOT of different Gear, I have been on a DAC journey lately and unfortunately I must buy a piece to try / hear it. I have had at least some 20 Solid State DACs in my system. HANDS DOWN the Merason is the best of them..................................I just can not seem to get away from tubes and am Keeping my sw1x...................The reviews of the DAC-1 will give you a very good description of sound and state it much better than I can.

Suffice to say I had an Aqua Optologic $8000.00 DAC in house B-4 and the Merason is better PERIOD.

With good source materials the DAC simply SINGS, Not a trace of digital edge, etch, sibilance etc... With a poor recording that is sibilant heavy you will hear it but its no where near as bad as lesser DACs. Soundstage is huge, Inner and outter detail is superb and Bass is supreme.

Cosmetically the DAC is easily an 8 (I dont see a mark on it) Functionally it is 100%

The DAC is a euro version that is 220, Included in the sale is a brand new UMI, LX300c Transformer. This actually acts like a Power conditioner / isolation. It does not get hot, No Hum, No noise at all.
