I can’t believe I have to do this, but life happened. Up for sale is my beloved Linear Tube Audio Z40+ Integrated amp. The first owner bought it just before the “+” upgrade. I bought the amp and had it sent to LTA to do the upgrade. That was November of 21. That is sub out and all new caps and hi res volume control and some other stuff. At first it powered my Focal Utopias, and later Dynaudio Heritage Specials. I got it because the headphone circuit is the main circuit, not some after thought added in. I found out why everyone loves LTA ZOTL gear and yes, I am a fan boy. Besides phenomenal equipment, they are all fantastic people. Their customer service is fantastic and if you want to know about my amp, just talk to Nickolas… he spent a lot of time helping me out.

The amp drove my Dynaudios as loud as I cared for with 51W into 4 ohms. The headphone circuit has a low and high gain switch with an unbalanced ¼” jack. Balanced input still provides increased output even though the amp itself is not fully balanced. It is definitely the best input to use over RCA. 5 inputs including tape monitor as well as L/R sub out RCAs. It is a beautiful amp. Remote is programmable to perform different functions. The menu is easy to navigate with high resolution volume control, high gain settings, Bal, and screen timeouts and intensity.

The amp came with the upgraded Mullard EL-34s. All XF2 date codes. The amp is voiced typical warm with all RCA and Mullard signal tubes. What you will get in the amp right now is 4 EL-34s, one pair of medical grade Mullard 12AU7s, one pair of Telefunken Long plate 12AX7s, and one pair of Mazda 12AU7s in the preamp. All original tubes and purchased tubes are vintage NOS.

What you will get extra, in addition to the above, is the original pair of RCA black plates that came in the amp for ther preamp, and my spare set of Mazda long plates. A spare set of Telefunken 12AX7s, and the Hammond/Amperex branded 12AX7s that came with the amp. And last, a spare set of Mullard 12AU7s. All were purchased from Brent Jessee as matched pairs, even though the LTA Z40+ Integrated does not require matched pairs. Oh, I also have 2 spare Mullard EL-34s I picked up that will be included. The Telefunkens are the best AX7s made and provide a top end unmatched by anything. The Mullards are unrivaled at bottom end and midrange, and the Mazdas in the pre make both better. It is a really awesome mix.

The amp itself has a very extended bottom end. Bass is refined and plentiful. The top end is incredibly detailed and resolving. There is no bad area. The mids are simply incredible and transparent. With my Lampizator DAC and Dynaudio speakers, I never thought such realism was possible, in both timbre and stage recreation. Can you tell I really love my amp? This really breaks my heart… but all good things… This amp was absolutely endgame for me. For speakers and headphones.

There is not a single blemish anywhere on the amp or remote. You will get all the original documentation, boxes, and remote as well as the stated tubes. The amp retails for $8250 as built. There is another $1500 in tubes. $9750… My Loss is your gain… $4500. That price includes shipping to CONUS. If you want it checked out, LTA will accept equipment as a middleman. They will check it out for you and ship it. You will be responsible for paying for shipping from LTA. Like I said, they have excellent customer service, and it is how I purchased it from an unknown. I accept PP and Venmo. Add 3% if you choose not to use friends. I’ll take a bank check as well, but nothing is moving until it fullu clears. Usually 10 business days. I have plenty of feedback here, buy with confidence. All the additional pics you want on request.
