Superb DAC had to spend 4 times the $$$ to out perform this beauty (Bought a sw1x DAC III) I debated long & hard. The lamp has a corner ding on the top left face plate (see PIC) Its honestly not visible from my listening position 6 feet away. Other than that corner its in superb shape cosmetically and its 100% functional. Using windows and J-River with USB if the program went to full stop there would be a click no pops or clicks between tracks etc... I used spdif as well with zero noise / pops / clicks (Using a USB/SPDIF Convertor) I am not able to test the AES but see no reason it should be a problem. I also have not tried the Balanced out but again have no reason to believe they would be a problem. I can test those using a balanced to RCA cable if someone is seriously interested

The DAC uses a pair of 616 mini tubes and has V-Cap coupling caps (see pics) You will not get a better sounding DAC at anywhere near this price.
