Well, both are good sounding, IMHO. The Sony has a nice, smooth feeling. The Fiio is certainly fine as well. The Sony is smaller, which makes it my traveling buddy. The Fiio has a larger screen which, if big screens are a deal, then go for the Fiio.
I use the Fiio at home when not at my desk and use the Cayin C9.--the sound, as one would expect, is wonderful. SOny might be a bit more expensive. They use proprietary parts, which results in the "Sony house of sound". Just don't buy a HiBy.
