Up for sale is a beautiful Exogal Comet+ with external power supply in all black. The DAC is in excellent to mint condition with very light micro scratching on the clear top that you need light to even see. I bought it from a guy in Indiana off Audio Mart who bought the last batch they made. It has the most up to date firmware, a perfect working remote and the accompanying umbilical cord. I would rate it a 8.5-9/10.
The Comet+ is made by the Wadia guys and retailed for $3500. It is an outstanding USB DAC for those who use a computer as their source. The sound is effortless, balanced and has phenomenal tone. It is voiced to have phenomenal timbral qualities and excels at pacing and just disappearing into the sound.
I kept a micro fiber towel on top at all times to keep in the best best possible condition.
Firmware is 02.25
I have it priced to sell! You will not find a better Comet+ anywhere at this price. It is in perfect condition. Pic one is NOT a scratch but a hair. Sorry for misinterpretation. It has very light scratches on the top from wear, but I couldn't even capture them with photos. They are barely noticeable, and the DAC presents as basically MINT!
I will cover shipping. Let's figure out a great way to put an incredible DAC into your system. I am not willing to go much lower than $1200 for this DAC especially since I am going to cover shipping and the box is quite big and heavy to ensure a safe journey. Priced to Sell! However, I did put best offer, so if you have a fair offer, shoot it my way.
DAC comes with DAC, PSU, Umbilical Cable, Power Cable, Paper Manual and Remote. It works through the remote. It's volume is always on, and I kept it between 88-100 depending on the amount of gain in my amp. 100 is considered Fixed DAC mode, but I think it sounds best around 95-97. However, there is no sound degradation as you move the volume up or down. Just loudness. The Digital Volume makes it a very capable preamp as it was designed to drive their ION Speaker Amp.
The DAC comes with its original box and will be shipped safely and securely. I generally use UPS and will ship within 2 days of finalizing the sale.
