Hello,
I have for consideration a DIY SRX-Pllus electrostatic headphone amplifier. I very recently purchased this amplifier from a friend, then realized it was much larger than my wife deemed acceptable... and I lost that battle.
It is very slightly larger than a Schiit Gungnir DAC (but still stacks on top of one), with chassis dimensions of 16.75" x 10" x 3.25" excluding tubes.
I observed slight machining marks on the top right edge of the front fascia and top right edge of the rear plate that are subtly visible in the provided images. Otherwise, the aesthetics and condition are top-notch for a DIY product.
This amplifier was crafted by a very talented member of the Stax Mafia; no questionable design decisions to be found in this amp (unlike many eBay offerings).
Notable parts/features include:
Included are the following (used) tubes:
This should be a very good alternative to the KGSSHV (mini) or KGST amplifiers, and a solid pairing with Stax Lambdas, SR-007(A), SR-009(S), Kaldas Research RR1, Nectar Audio Hive or new Audeze CRBN and Stax SR-X9000 earspeakers.
Ideally looking for local pickup in the SF Bay Area, with auditions welcome near the north Santa Clara area (ZIP 95054).
Thanks for reading!
