I am selling a rare Denon D2000 that I have restored.
The headphones were not in good condition when I bought them, the headband was worn out, the pads too, the cable too long, faded and inflexible.

I restored it with a new headband made of suede by my wife who is a seamstress.
The pads were renewed, the drivers are still in good condition after all these years and were superficially cleaned of what had accumulated from the previous owner.

I then decided to give it a Lawton mod which is famous for the Fostex headphones and is only available from America.
This is a damping kit that you stick on the intended driver to dampen unwanted resonances caused by the vibrations.
This makes the mid and treble range much more controlled.

New headphone cups from the company Emu, which also still produces these headphones, but under a different name.
The cups are made of rosewood and add to the sound signature.
The sound is similar to the old Ah D5000 or Fostex Tr X00 Purpleheart.

The cable was replaced with a Viablue Epc2 silver cable with 4 pin XLR plug from Furutech.
I made an adapter from 4 pin XLR to 6,3mm jack,the cable is also from Viablue Epc 4,the plugs are from Neutrik.

Included are a set of replacement pads for direct replacement,they are the same pads that are fitted for later.
Dekoni rings are also included.

All these improvements make the old D2000 sound old and is neatly matched with the damping kit,cups,cables,pads plus dekoni rings.
Sonically it is warm,with great massive bass control,V shaped lively sound.

Loved listening to it and am only selling it because I have moved on to something bigger and it hardly gets any play time.

The old Denon cups that were on it before.

On one of the cups, the cup has suffered a small paint chipping, which you can hardly see visually as it is more at the bottom and has no technical influence.
