Purchased new in spring 2022 from an authorized dealer. I would estimate it has 20-30 hours on it. CJ's proprietary capacitors are known for requiring around 300 hours of break-in, so this amp is essentially new. Selling because it was kind of an impetuous purchase. I don't listen to headphones often so it makes little sense to hold onto it.

CJ says that this amp was designed for low-impedance headphones 20-32 ohm, but it also easily drives my Sennheiser's at 80 ohms. I would wager that it would satisfactorily drive any 'phones up to 120 ohms.

Important bonus: The HVA1 has a stepped attenuator made entirely with Vishay resistors. The attenuator is excellent, but if you read the reviews, you will see that many people complain that the steps in volume are too large. My amp has been modified at the factory to include a resistor network on Input 1 which decreases the input by 12db. Essentially this halves the original steps, giving more freedom in volume control.

CJ's tagline is "It just sounds right". People will have differing opinions on what "right" sounds like, but I think everyone will agree that this amp makes some of the most beautiful music a person may ever hear.
