This is an interest check for most likely the rarest amp on Head-Fi. I have owned this amp for 2 1/2 years and it has been my daily amp since. It is an AMAZING amp, and was designed specifically for Planars and low impedance high current headphones.
A Few Caveats:
1. Cembalo is out of business. This amp retailed for $2000 in 2015, so you can imagine its value today based on inflation and the quality of the amplification. Therefore, there is no warranty or ability to speak to Cembalo. However, I do have the original manual and the amp is really in beautiful shape.
2. The amp is a bit finicky. It is a Single Ended Design with an extremely short signal path. It takes both XLR and RCA interconnects, and it has XLR and 2, 1/4" headphone outputs. Of which you can use all 3 at the same time.
3. The amp is pure Class A, through and through. The specs are misleading, it will power any headphone on the planet with ease.
4. The amp is designed to achieve its best SNR at 9 on the volume pot. I control the voltage going into the amp through my DAC to ensure I am always keeping the volume between 8-10. If using a pre-amp you will get significantly more volume play.
The Spring 1 is one of the best sounding amps I have ever heard. It is shocking how good it sounds with Planars like the D8K Pro, 4z, LFF Code X, Diana V2, among others. This is a chance to own one of the truly unique, beautiful and rarest of amps in our hobby. @Slim1970 can also attest to this fact.
This is an interest check because most people do not know much about this amp, but I can promise you that you will not be disappointed if you are good with controlling voltage and current from your source to your amp. Here is a review or two to check out so you can see how lauded this was when it came out 8 years ago. I have had the amp tuned up in the past year by @ksorota. He can vouch for this amps sound and build quality.

What am I looking for? DAC and or headphone. I have the price set at $1200. I am willing to take less for the right head-fi member. I am willing to trade or sell. I want this amp to go to a home that will truly appreciate it. I don't want to have it keep turning through the classifieds. I will keep it happily before letting it go to someone just looking to turn and burn this amp. It is too rare and sounds too good. If this sounds good to you, please let me know. I would love to share this amp and give someone else in the community the opportunity to enjoy one of the best amps for planars ever created. One last thing, the better the cabling the better it sounds. It takes to upstream gear like no other amp I have heard. Both reviews will echo this sentiment.
