Hello I'm selling my Burson Playmate 2 + V6 Classic opamps (2 x single 2 x dual).

Bought it back in December last year, rarely used in almost brand new condition. Might have put in less than 20 hours. I bought it from Toronto's official Burson retailer (Canada).

Originally bought for my Denon D5200 while it sounds great but it's too loud since D5200 is low impedance (24 Ohm) and easy to drive, Playmate 2 is 3.5W Class A. It also sounds better on high gain so I recommend only getting this if your headphone is somewhat high impedance or low sensitivity.

Otherwise if loudness is not an issue then it sounds really good!!! Talked to another head-fi member he mentioned with the V6 opamp, it brings Playmate 2 to 90% of his Conductor 3 Reference's level (though Conductor 3 Reference come with Vivid as oppose to Classic).

If purchased from Burson it would be $744 USD + $55 USD shipping = $799 USD.

I'm selling it $500 USD shipped (I cover shipping and PayPal fee). Canadian customers I can do $650 CAD shipped.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments, thanks!

Excellent headfier! Easily recommend any purchase or sale from them easily! I am sorry this combination didn’t work out for your headphones and listening needs. I also remembered the Burson soloist 3x was almost the perfect match for my lower impedance headphones as it has low/med/high gain (almost part was it’s expensive because it’s only an amp so a dac purchase on top of the 1k for the amp is no easy entry).

Thank you for your kind words! No worries all good, I think I was hoping low gain from Playmate 2 would be low enough, but as you said only Conductor 3 Reference and Soloist offer the 3 stages (low, med, high) and their low gain is lower than Playmate 2's / Conductor 3 Performance's low gain.

I will possibly revisit this at a later time, but for now I want to explore dongle dac a little bit (have Cayin RU6 and Astell and Kern PEE51 on the way).

And we know how it is with this hobby, I'll come full circle sooner or later LOL.

Cheers!
